I write arts criticism, comic autobiography, prose fiction and poetry.
For example:
I write reviews and interviews for the music magazine Loud and Quiet.
I have written for publications including Guardian Online, Zest Magazine, Food&, E1ife (as Katie Savin), Times Higher Education and The Conversation.
I used to write regular reviews and opinion pieces for the Leeds based blog The Culture Vulture, click here for an archive of those.
I’ve written several pieces for Instyle.co.uk, including movie reviews, opinion pieces and celebrity gossip commentary.
I used to blog at the Huffington Post from time to time.
From 2012-2017 I authored the blog Reasons to be Single which won the 2013 Cosmopolitan Blog Award in the ‘Best Sex and Relationships’ category, after being shortlisted from over 40,000 entrants. And for a short while I blogged, very occasionally, at If You Ask Me.
I am currently working on an experimental long-form story, that explores the relationship between the real and the fictional. You can view the archive of that project here, and sign up to receive the latest entries here. I’m also slowly writing an alphabetical collection of short stories, you can read the entry for ‘B’ (Burn, Baby, Burn) here.
I love collaborating. I was part of Toby Melville-Brown’s exhibition The Future was Big, providing story synopses for his speculative Sci-Fi covers.
You can also hear my poem ‘Consensual’ included in the ‘Moths’ chapter of the Insect Love Songs anthology, edited by Fiona Benson here.
